Senator Risa Hontiveros wants to deport Chinese criminals to protect the Filipino people from crimes related to POGO industry.
Hontiveros wants to ensure the safety of the Filipinos by calling for the deportation of the Chinese criminals in the country as crimes linked to the growing Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) industry increases.
The lawmaker made the call after the alleged Bureau of Immigration’s bribery scheme and the suspicious entry of at least $447 million in the Philippines were discussed during the Senate hearings on POGOs.
“Klarong-klaro na napakarami nang kriminal na nakapasok sa bansa ngayon, Deport these criminals. Filipinos’ safety comes first,” Hontiveros said.
The lady senator is also waiting for the reply of the Chinese embassy on her 2-week-old request for help for the Chinese women who were allegedly forced into prostitution in local gaming hubs.
The Chinese embassy explained that the crimes committed by Chinese citizens are isolated cases. It also explained that those isolated crimes cannot represent the relationship between China and the Philippines.
