South Korea Confirms 15 New Cases Of Coronavirus

SOUTH KOREA CORONAVIRUS CASES – According to health authorities in South Korea, 15 new cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

Globally, the new coronavirus death toll had gone past 2,000. Along with this, Hubei province recorded an additional 132 more people had died. Along with this, over 1,693 new cases of people infected with the virus were now recorded.

In Korea, the total number of infected withing the country grows to 46. Meanwhile, thirteen of the fresh cases were from the city of Daegu and the surrounding North Gyeongsang province.

According to an article from ABS-CBN, the country’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that 11 of them were linked to an earlier confirmed carrier.

The earlier case of the carrier was confirmed on Tuesday. As per the article, the person had no record of traveling abroad. However, the individual did attend a church service and sought care at a hospital.

From there, tests revealed that the person was, in fact, positive for COVID-19.

Following this, the South Korean President Moon Jae-in has called for stringent infection control measures and every possible step to boost the economy. In addition, he stated that the economy could be in an emergency situation due to the global coronavirus threat.

However, the Chinese government had recently stated that cases outside of Wuhan, China had already been seeing a decline in the number of infected. But, the World Health Organization emphasized that it would be too early to determine.
