Vice Mayor of the capital city of Negros Occidental El Cid Familiaran confirmed on Thursday that all persons under investigation for COVID-19 were already discharged from the hospital.

This is due to the results that they were negative from Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-2019). Despite this, the mayor urged the residents to stay vigilant.

“That is not yet a cause for us to celebrate. There is no time to celebrate yet… Don’t be complacent,”

According to Panay News, Mayor Bing the fast spread of the virus even before there will be vaccines should serve as a reminder for the public to be watchful.

“At this age and time when traveling is so easy and so massive, we cannot let our guards down. It’s not that we can just stop people from entering our ports. We cannot be an island by ourselves,”

He also appealed to the residents to refrain from sharing false information about the virus.

“The problem is that we also have “infodemic”. Fake news is so unnecessary, it upsets people. They get traumatized and paranoid. It is enough that we have this problem. I appeal to everyone. Use your conscience. Please stop spreading lies and fake news for the sake of society,”

As per the report, the mayor praised the Inter-Agency Task Force, which was led by Familiaran, for doing an encompassing job, enabling the city to avoid and control the outbreak.
