Authorities Deny 36 Chinese of Entry To Manila Amid Travel Ban to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus

36 Chinese nationals were denied of entry to Manila by the Philippine immigration officers amid the travel ban to curb the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus.

Several countries are now on a tough fight against the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus. The said disease was first recorded in Wuhan City in the province of Hubei, China.

The cure for the nCoV has yet to be discovered. It bears symptoms similar to flu like fever, cough, and shortness of breath. With regards to its cause, it was yet to be fully determined amid the speculations that it originated from bats.

Several countries got a confirmed case of coronavirus. One of it is the Philippines which has three (3) confirmed cases. The second patient of nCoV in PH has passed away. All patients are Chinese nationals.

In the pursuit to curb the spread of the virus, the government has opted to implement restrictions on travelers from China and its territories including Macau and Hong Kong.

Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, 36 Chinese nationals were denied of entry to Manila. The officers of the Philippine immigration discovered that they are a batch and has visited Macau.

The Chinese were aboard a Philippine Airlines flight going to the Philippines from Cambodia. It was in February 1 when the foreigners visited Macau as a group.

According to the report, since they were barred from entry to Manila at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, the 36 Chinese nationals had to go back to Phnom Penh. They booked the first international flight available.

Currently, the authorities are monitoring the entry of people to the maximum level. The nCoV can rapidly spread thus people who had a contact with the confirmed coronavirus patients are also being traced.
