Binay encouraged students to share the city’s new “kicks” on social media. She said, “Since the start of the year, there’s been nothing but bad news. For a change, let’s post good news.”

Aside from the free rubber shoes, the local government of Makati will also be giving away raincoats, rain boots, jackets or hoodies, white socks, reusable tumblers, anti-dengue kits, dental hygiene kits, hard hats and emergency go kits and bags for all public school students as part of their Project Free, or Free Relevant Excellent Education Program.
