Lea Salonga Releases ‘Public Apology’ for being this kind of Music Teacher

Here’s the “public apology” from Lea Salonga

Internationally-acclaimed singer and theater actress Lea Salonga released a “public apology” for being this kind of music teacher.

It is known to many that Lea is a perfectionist when it comes to performing. Through the years, she was able to prove that one can soar high in the music and theater scene if perseverance and hard work are really there.

Now that she already spent fruitful years in the entertainment industry, it is her time to share the knowledge and passion she has in performing. With this, she is one of the judges/mentors/coaches in The Voice Philippines. Through this, she helps people identify true talent as well as to enhance one’s ability.

However, it is inevitable that some would criticize her approach in teaching or mentoring, especially her certain strictness. Lea Salonga admitted in a previous interview that she more mean as a coach compared to Sharon Cuneta.

Some may criticize her for being “mean”, strict, or straightforward, but those who wanted these traits from a voice coach appreciate what she is doing. In line with others’ bad perceptions of her teaching and mentoring, Lea Salonga released a “public apology” through her recent social media post.

Her “public apology” was itemized. In number 1 it says: “I apologize for being a mean, demanding, and slightly obsessive Music Teacher.” Then, number 2 was a promise to be nicer.

However, in number 3, this was stated, “1 & 2 are lies” and the number 4 says what she really wants her students to do “go practice.”
