FACT CHECK: Alert Level 2, 69 Cases Of nCoV In Bacolod City

FACT CHECK – A post allegedly from a hospital in Bacolod City that says there are 69 confirmed cases of nCoV on quarantine in the city circulated online.

Netizen Lyka E Montañez shared the photo of the alleged advisory from the Riverside Medical Center Inc. that as of 8:00 AM on January 29, 2020, the nCoV has entered the said city and is allegedly confirmed on level 2 health advisory.

The alleged advisory said that there are now 69 confirmed cases on quarantine in the capital city of Negros Occidental.

Montañez asked the public’s opinion whether or not it is legitimate. The post gained 18 reactions and 30 shares.

However, the official page of Riverside’s Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital posted that the advisory is indeed fake. In their post, they urged the public to make sure if the sources are reliable and to only trust the statements and advisories coming from their official pages.

In their actual advisory, they confirmed that the said advisory is not an official advisory from them.

They added that there is no confirmed case of the nCoV in the city yet.
