Wuhan Nurse Shaves Her Head to Speed Up Work & Prevent Cross-Infection

A lady nurse in Wuhan, China shaves her head to speed up his work taking care of patients infected with the new coronavirus.

In the midst of the deadly Wuhan virus outbreak, doctors and nurses are stretched thin trying their best to attend to infected patients. With the overwhelming amount of patients that walk into hospitals every day, medical staff are exhausted as there aren’t enough of them to handle the patients

In an article by The Star, a 30-year-old nurse in Wuhan, China – the epicenter of the novel coronavirus or nCoV – shaves her head to accelerate her work in caring for patients against the spread of the disease.

Named as Shan Xia of Renmin Hospital at Wuhan University. A mother of two children said she works to prevent cross-infection and saves time every time she wears and removes protective gear. Every minute is crucial in saving the patient.

Meanwhile, at a media conference on Monday, the National Health Commission said it has organized teams of 959 medical workers from seven provinces and cities to head to Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak in Hubei, to prevent and contain infections.

Aside from that, seven steering groups have been sent to Beijing, Hebei, Shanghai, Henan, Hunan, Guangdong and Sichuan to check the work of epidemic monitoring, medical treatment, epidemic prevention and control by communities and grassroots medical institutions.
