Bacolod City To Launch IClinicSys In Health Centers In Villages

BACOLOD CITY – The government of Bacolod City aims to launch the Integrated Clinic Information System in all village health centers of the city.

According to SunStar, Councilor Cindy Rojas, chairperson of the City Council committee on health, said that the city will improve all health centers in the barangays.

Rojas added that she talked with City Health Officer Ma. Carmela Gensoli and they agreed to launch the Integrated Clinic Information System or iClinicSys to the village’s health centers.

The capital city of Negros Occidental has a total of 29 village health centers. Among those were 20 health centers in rural barangays and 9 in urban villages.

Rojas said that the system is an electronic medical record and health information system that supports the function of a primary health care facilities, which includes Rural Health Units (RHUs), Health Centers (HCs) and Barangay Health Station (BHS).

As per the report, she added that it aims to automate service delivery processes to efficiently and effectively observe patient care in the health facility.

“It generates electronic medical record of patients that allow health care provider to track patient’s data,”

The councilor added that only the Taculing Village health center implemented the Integrated Clinic Information System.

On Monday, along with the City Health Office, Rojas held a meeting with the barangay officials at the Bacolod Government Center and discussed their plan to launch the iClinicSys within this year.

“The iClinicSys is a big help to our barangay health workers and nurses to easily locate the records of their patients,”

She added the barangay has a budget for the health program so they can afford to buy desktop and internet connection so they can operate with iClinicSys.

She also revealed that the City Engineers Office were ordered to enact the improvements in various health centers such as repair of the building and its equipment.
