Nadine Lustre’s Camp Accuses Viva Of “Taking Advantage of Young Artists”

The camp of Nadine Lustre has this accusation against Viva

The camp of actress Nadine Lustre accused the Viva Artists Agency (VAA) of “taking advantage of their young artists”.

Nadine decided to manage her own showbiz career as she “terminated” her contract with Viva. She has been under the talent management company since she started her career in the entertainment industry.

However, VAA recently released a statement contrary to what Nadine has announced. The company said the actress is still its exclusive talent until now. Viva also posted a threat that it might resort to a legal battle against Nadine and/or a third party that will commission her for a project.

In line with this, the camp of Nadine Lustre fired back. Based on the report from PEP, Atty. Lorna Kapunan of Kapunan & Castillo Law Offices, the one handling the actress on this legal matter, issued a statement.

The lawyer of Nadine said through a Viber message that they are ready when the scenario will resort to a lawsuit. “We welcome any legal action by VIVA so their unconscionable, oppressive and illegal Contract with Nadine (and their other artists) can be litigated in the proper forum,” she said.

In addition, the camp of the actress expressed no fear of going against the big and popular entertainment company. Then, the accusation came that Viva is allegedly taking advantage of its talents. Aside from this, Nadine’s camp pointed out they already tried to reach out to VAA but the letters they sent were not answered.

“It’s about time that a David strikes out a Goliath that has taken advantage of young artists in the industry for the longest time. Viva lawyers have not replied to our earlier letters but chose to wait in ambush to malign Nadine and harass Third parties dealing with her in good faith,” Atty. Kapunan said.

She added, “This is wrongful and malicious Contract interference by VIVA actionable in law for damages.” On the other hand, the lawyer clarified that the contract of Nadine Lustre with Viva Communications, Inc., “still subsists, subject to her right to refuse making movies.” She still has her Exclusive Movie Contract with the company. The actress just revoked her Agency and Management Contract with VAA, based on the report.
