Child Fell In Creek In Quezon City, Search Still Ongoing

QUEZON CITY – It’s been 14 hours when barangay officials are searching for an 11-year-old child who fell in a creek in Brgy. Obrero, Quezon City.

According to ABS-CBN News, Barangay Chairman Jose Segundo reported that the incident was reported to them at abut 3 PM Thursday. The missing was identified under the name “Uno”.

The child’s relatives said that Uno is with 4 boys when they had to the creek to gather trash. they found a ball floating on the creek, which prompted them to grab.

Uno attempted to reach for the ball when he slipped from a mossy rock and fell on a creek. His friends attempted to rescue Uno but to no avail.

Authorities from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responded to the incident but was forced to halt since it was dark. The PCG is expected to resume at 7 in the morning.

As per the report, for barangay officials and Uno’s relatives, they are waiting for the chld’s return, further placing a light to see the child’s body.
