Fire In Tondo, Manila Destroyed More Than Hundred Houses

TONDO – More than a hundred houses have been razed by the fire which occurred early Thursday morning in Tondo, Manila.

According to ABS-CBN News, a fire broke out at Lico Street, Barangay 210, Tondo, says the Manila Fire District. They eventually announced that the fire was out at 6:06 AM.

Manila District Fire Marshal Sr. Supt. Rodolfo Denaga said that the fire was difficult to extinguish due the lack of water supply since there is only one fire hydrant in the said place.

Furthermore, the firefighters were unable to move freely because of the tight space in the street due to the vehicles parking at the side, added by the residents who retrieved their belongings.

Denaga added that there are about 109 houses that were destroyed by the fire which worth at about ₱1.5 million. 4 men gained minor injuries.

As per the report, Wilberto Rico Neil Kwan Tiu, Regional Director Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) NCR, recorded about 5 people injured and 120 families affected by the fire. Tiu also recorded about 75 houses destroyed.

Initial investigations from BFP NCR states that the fire came from the 4-storey house of one resident. Firefighters are currently initiating a mopping operation and determine the source of the fire.
