At a festival ground and adjoining roads in the coastal state of Kerala’s Thrissur city, thousands of tables and desks were stretched to make the serpentine-like cake.

Truly, this is a record-baking feat! The vanilla cake was spread with chocolate ganache and was 4 inches wide and thick. According to an article from ABS-CBN, it weighed about 27 thousand kilograms or 59,900 lbs.

There were about 1,500 bakers that wore the traditional chef’s outfit of whites and toque Blanche caps. They spent 4 hours to put the cake together using 12,000 kilograms of sugar and flour.

As per the article, Large crowds gathered and witnessed the event organized by the Bakers Association Kerala (BAKE). According to the group’s secretary, Guinness World Records had assessed the cake to be 6,500 meters long.

However, the exact confirmation of the length was still pending. This length would far surpass the previous Guinness record held by Chinese Bakers in Zixi who made a 3.2 km long fruitcake in 2018.

In a statement, their secretary said that the cake was made to showcase their talents to the world. He added that they ensured that the hygiene and taste are up to the mark.
