Manila Water Sent Water Tankers to Evacuation Sites in Batangas

The Manila Water Company sent thirty water tankers to various evacuation sites in Batangas to provide assistance to the evacuees.

Due to heavy ashfall emitted by Taal Volcano, waters near the area possibly contaminated and not safe to drink. Water is one of the needs of today’s residents affected by the Taal Volcanic eruption.

Fortunately, the Manila Water Company has already sent water tanks to evacuation sites. They have sent 30 water tankers to various locations in Southern Luzon to provide assistance to evacuees.

According to the Manila Water Company, With the help of Laguna Water, they initially deployed these water tanks in three towns in Batangas. Four water tanks have already been sent to Tanauan City, particularly in Poblacion Balele West Covered Court, Poblacion Gloria, and Tanuan City Gym.

Two at the PUP Gymnasium in Sto. Tomas and six tanks at the Bolbok Provincial Sports Complex in Batangas City. There are also requests from Manila Water to send water tanks to San Luis Municipal Hall, Taal Municipal Hall in Batangas, and to Alfonso town in Cavite.

Other water tanks on standby will be sent to other evacuation sites, as requested by local governments. When the water in the tanks is depleted, Laguna Water is ready to refill and they also have the staff to assist with the distribution of water.

The Manila Water Foundation will also supply 2,000 units of 5-gallon bottled water for various evacuation sites. They partnered with the Batangas Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office for distribution.
