PAGASA – ITCZ To Bring Cloudy Skies, Rains Over Parts Of Mindanao

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect parts of Mindanao this January 8 (Wednesday).

The bureau elaborated in its 4 AM update that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region. The bureau warned of flash floods or landslides that might occur during severe thunderstorms.

According to GMA News, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon or amihan will be faced by Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, as well as the rest of the country will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. The bureau warned the public of flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.

As per the report, for the wind speed forecast, northern Luzon; the eastern sections of Central and southern Luzon; and Eastern Visayas will have moderate to strong winds moving east to northeast with rough coastal waters.

The rest of the Philippines will have light to moderate winds moving northeastward with slight to moderate coastal waters.
