Young Girl Uses Her Christmas Money to Donate 600 pounds of Pet Food to Shelter
An 8-year-old young girl uses her Christmas money she received to donate 600 pounds of pet food to an animal shelter instead of buying toys.
Every Christmas season kids usually wish to receive a new toy as their gift, but this 8-year-old girl from Washington, United States named Landlyn Wadsworth doesn’t wish for any toys.
Based on the report of CNN affiliate KEPR, Landlyn specifically wishes that the gift she wanted was money so she could buy pet food that she would donate for dogs and cats to an animal shelter.
Landyn bought more than half a ton of dog and cat food for the holiday season. She immediately brought 600 kilograms of pet food to Tri-Cities Animal Shelter & Control Services as a gift to her “furry friends”
The shelter posted a picture on Christmas Eve of Landyn standing next to a cart full of dog and cat food. The stack was taller than she is and she also had a sack that was bulging with supplies for the animals.
“Landyn’s wish for Christmas was food donations for the shelter and it looks like her wish came true!! We are so grateful for your kindness and I’m sure the dogs and cats are too!” said on the caption on the Facebook post.
Alisha’s mother said that Landyn was sad to learn that dogs and cats had no family at the animal shelter during their first visit in 2016. And since they couldn’t adopt them, the child thought to give pet food.
This is the third year Landyn has collected presents for the shelter. And now, She’s already started collecting donations for next year.
