Cayetano Airs Resentment Towards Sen. Drilon, Ninoy Aquino In Front Of Athletes

CAYETANO – PHISCOG chair Alen Peter Cayetano aired his resentment towards Sen. Franklin Drilon and Ninoy Aquino in front of the athletes.

The Philippine hosted the 30th Southeast Asian Games. The Philippine Sea games Organizational Committee (PHISGOC) is chaired by House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.

Days before the opening of the biennial games, Senator Franklin Drilon question the P50 million cost of the cauldron. He said the huge amount could have been used to build more classrooms.

In a previous article, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte defended the giant cauldron and said there was no corruption involved. He justified that it was expensive because it is a work of art.

Cayetano also said that Philippine’s giant cauldron is much cheaper than Singapore’s. “Ang cauldron ay isang monumento. Isa itong simbolo. Isa itong work of art. Ito ay isang requirement sa lahat ng games because it symbolizes the games’ competition, spirit,” he said.

Sen. Drilon earlier said he will seek a Senate inquiry to see how PHISGOC spent the P6 billion budget.

Recently, the video of Alan Peter Cayetano airing his sentiments towards his fellow politician Senator Franklin Drilon in front of the SEA Games 2019 athlete emerged on social media. He also blasted former President Noynoy Aquino for criticizing the PH hosting of the regional meet.

He revealed that the previous administration asked for a 10 billion budget for Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in 2015. He and his fellow politicians were told not to disclose anything about it before and during the event.

“Nakita ko sa budget P10 billion para sa APEC… at ano ang sabi nila sa amin? Wag kayong mag ingay before and during dahil lahat ng bansa international press nandito…”

“Ilan ba ang nagawang classroom kung hindi natin hinost yung APEC? 10 thousand classrooms. P50 million? Titirahin nila?” he said.
