Northeast Monsoon To Bring Rains Over Parts of Philippines, PAGASA Says

WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon is expected to bring rains over parts of the Philippines.

On Saturday (December 14, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. PAGASA said that the northeast monsoon would affect the country’s weather conditions.

The Northeast Monsoon or locally known as ‘Amihan’ is expected to bring cloudy weather conditions with light rains over Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

Amihan would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Windy conditions are expected over mountainous and coastal areas.

The easterlies would also bring cloudy conditions with rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and Caraga. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers are also expected over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.

The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Extreme Northern Luzon will be rough. The remaining parts of the country would have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
