Gary Valenciano To Hold ‘Last Major Concert’ Next Year

GARY VALENCIANO – On Friday, Paolo Valenciano teased that he is planning his dad Gary Valenciano’s “last major concert” next year.

In 2018, veteran singer Gary Valenciano underwent open-heart surgery. It happened after he felt a sensation he never felt before after his show. He said he felt tightness and pain in his chest.

The Filipino-Puerto Rican singer also revealed that he was diagnosed with kidney cancer. After going through a series of tests and medication, he announced that he is cancer-free in July this year.

Gary Valenciano expressed his gratitude to all the people who supported and prayed for his recovery. Actress Maja Salvador revealed the reason why she did not visit him at the hospital. She explained that she could not bear to see his idol in a weak state.

“Hindi ko masabi straight sa kanila na hindi ko kayang Makita na maniha si tito Gary…Kasi hindi ko kayang makita na mahina yung mga taong mahal ko, lalo na kung sila yung nagbibigay ng insperasyon sa akin,” she said.

On Friday, December 13, Gary Valenciano’s son Paolo Valenciano took to social media to announce that he’s planning his father’s “last major concert” for 2020. His Instagram post came with an emotional photo of him with his mom Angeli Pangilinan Valenciano.

Paolo Valenciano uploaded his wishlist for his dad Gary Valenciano’s concert on his Instagram Story. It seems Mr. Pure Energy’s concert will be a 2-day event from April 18 to 19 at the Araneta Coliseum. Daniel Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Ede Dancel, Julie Anne San Jose, Darren Espanto were on his wishlist of performers.

He has directed concerts including those of Sharon Cuneta and Sarah Geronimo.
