LIBRENG SAKAY – The Pasig River Ferry is now offering free rides to the Filipino people to reduce traffic congestions during this Christmas Season.

Nowadays, heavy traffic congestion along the road is one of the major problems in the Philippines. The traffic problems cause inconvenience to thousands of Filipino commuters and even affect the country’s economy.

The increasing amount of vehicles along the road and motorists who lack discipline usually cause massive traffic jams. The Philippine government is now making efforts to resolve traffic issues.

Recently, the Facebook page “MMDA” reported that the Pasig River Ferry is now offering free rides to Filipino commuters as an alternative utility vehicle to avoid the heavy traffic along Metro Manila.

The announcement came after Senator Bong Go asked the Department of Transportation to make the Pasig River Ferry service free for commuters until January 31, 2020, or as long as Metropolitan Manila Development Authority can afford to give a free ride.

Go wants the ferry to help the Filipino passengers to avoid the heavy traffic along the National Capital Region during this Yuletide Season. The lawmaker also requested DOTr Secretary Art Tugade to produce additional ferries.
