What Is The Pampanga Province? About The Province In Central Luzon

PAMPANGA PROVINCE – In this topic, we will now know about the province in Central Luzon called Pampanga province.

The province of Pampanga, also known as Lalauígan ning Pampángga locally, is a province in the central region of Luzon.

The province lies on the northern shore of Manila Bay. It is surrounded by the following areas:

  • Nueva Ecija
  • Bulacan
  • Manila BAy
  • Bataan
  • Zambales

It is dubbed the Culinary Capital of the Philippines and the Tilapia Capital of the Philippines.

Ethnic groups includes Kapampangan, Tagalog, and Sambal and their spoken languages are Kapampangan, Tagalog, and English.

Its capital is San Fernando City and has a landmass of about 2K kilometers squared or 773 square miles.

Its name was from the Spanish word “La Pampanga” which is derived from the word pampáng which means banks. The name was given by the Spaniards who encountered natives living in the banks of the Pampanga river.
