Lieutenant General Gilbert Gapay Appointed As New Philippine Army Chief

NEW PHILIPPINE ARMY CHIEF – Lieutenant General Gilbert Gapay was appointed as the new commander of the Philippine Army.

In the Philippines, among the forces that are tasked to maintain the security in the country and to defend it from those who wanted to invade it is the Philippine Army. One has to go through severe training to join the said body as huge responsibilities await.

Currently, the Philippine Army is led by Lieutenant General Macairog Alberto. But he is set to retire this December 6, 2019 so a new commander has to be appointed.

The appointment is within the discretion of the Chief Executive of the country, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The appointment will undergo the confirmation by an Armed Forces chief.
