Toni Gonzaga Reveals If She Is Willing To Host The Buzz Again
THE BUZZ – Due to the influx of controversies in the Philippine media, fans have been clamoring for the country’s most iconic talk show to have a comeback with Toni Gonzaga and Boy Abunda.
The Buzz was the Philippine’s longest-running afternoon showbiz talk show that started in 1999 and revolutionized the genre. After the departure of Kris Aquino in 2010, Toni co-hosted the show till 2015.
Although the show had ended, Boy Abunda left fans with three points in his farewell speech. “They will be back”, “Showbiz news is here to stay”, and “The talk show genre is here to stay”.
With that in mind, the only question left now is when? And, during the most recent episode of Tonight with Boy Abunda, we may have found some clues.
In the interview, Boy told Toni that the fans have been aching for a comeback. Toni then cited that there have been so many controversies in the industry that took place.
Afterward, Boy went straight to the point and asked Toni if she wanted “The Buzz” to be back. Without any hesitation, Toni answered: “Working with you Tito Boy anytime I would say yes“.
She added that she learned a lot from Boy throughout the years. Toni then stated that she always had something new to learn from Boy every time.
However, Boy Abunda said that he wasn’t sure about the comeback. He explained that the landscape of the industry has drastically changed.
The talk show host cited that because of technology, news travels faster. With this, people could now react immediately to celebrity news.
Afterward, Boy asked Toni, “Pero halimbawa lamang, nangyari at nanaibalik yung The Buzz, you would go for it?“.
Toni then explained that at that particular moment, she couldn’t give her final answer. She added that when the time comes and the opportunity presents itself, she could finally say yes.
