Some of these lapses include food preparations, transportation, and accommodation. Not only foreign athletes were affected, but even Filipino participants.

The President was at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit in Busan when the complaints were voiced.

According to an article from GMA, Salvador Panelo said that the lapses could have been avoided. He added that if the organizers had contingency plans things would’ve gone smoothly.

Adding to this, Panelo also gave his take on the report that some athletes were just served egg, rice, and the street food, Kikiam for breakfast. He said that those are served if you had nothing left to eat.

However, the Palace recently made an apology for the “unintentional inconvenience” experienced by the athletes. Panelo said on Sunday that they are not promising the SEA Games would be flawless given the number of representatives.

Amid the criticism and controversy, Senator Manny Pacquiao urged the public to support the Philippine athletes. He wanted the Filipino people to support instead of finding faults.
