PAGASA – Sarah Enhanced Into Severe Tropical Storm

PAGASA – State weather bureau PAGASA recently said that tropical cyclone Sarah recently enhanced into a severe tropical storm.

The bureau said that it is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of about 95 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 115 kilometers per hour.

According to ABS-CBN, as of 4 AM the now severe tropical storm was last spotted at about 425 kilometers east northeast of the town of Aparri, Cagayan.

Sarah is currently moving north northwest at about 25 kilometers per hour and is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday (November 23).

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 1, where the bureau warns of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour of wind speeds or intermittent rains within 36 hours, are raised over the following areas:

  • Batanes
  • Babuyan Group of Islands

As per the report, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy rains due to the trough or extension severe tropical storm Sarah, will be raised over the following:

  • Isabela
  • Cagayan
    • including eastern section of Cagayan
  • Aurora
  • north Quezon
  • Metro Manila
  • most of Central Luzon
