VICE GANDA – Find out how Vice Ganda convinced his friend Ethel Booba to announce her pregnancy on It’s Showtime.
Filipina singer and comedian Ethel Booba is one of the most well-known showbiz personalities in the Philippines. She recently joined It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan Celebrity Champions.
The 42-year-old celebrity eventually came out as champion in the singing contest. She previously revealed that she had plans to back out due to her vocal problems.
On Friday, November 15, Ethel Booba announced her pregnancy during the show. It’s her first child with her boyfriend Jessi Salazar.
Phenomenal star Vice Ganda was the one who encouraged her to drop the good news to everyone. She tears up after blurting out that she’s carrying a life inside her stomach.
“I’m happy for the gift of life…Kaya nahiharapan ako kumanta parang lalabas yung bahay-bata ko… Double celebration, double congratulations to me. 6 months,” she said.
Based on a report from PEP, Vice Ganda explained the reason why he convinced his friend to announce her pregnancy on the show. He believed that Ethel’s pregnancy might bring delight to the Filipino people who are tired of hearing bad news.
“Sabi ko kasi sa kanya, ang Pilipinas ngayon, punung-puno ng bad news kaya pag merong mga good news silang naririnig, nagbubunyi talaga ang Pilipinas. Nung na-engage si Angel Locsin, nagbunyi ang Pilipinas. Nung na-engage si Sarah Geronimo, nagbunyi ang Pilipinas.Nagka-jowa ako, maraming nagbunyi. Nagbuntis si Anne Curtis, maraming nagbunyi. Parang lahat tayo, takam na takam sa good news, kaya kung may good news ka, kung gusto mo i-share, i-share mo kasi gusto namin ng good news.”
According to the report, Vice Ganda congratulated his friend for her new blessing and expressed his excitement to become one of the godparents. “Congratulations! We’re so happy for you,” said Vice.
