According to ABS-CBN News, the 17th tropical cyclone to enter the Philippines is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometer per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kilometers per hour.

The following areas will face cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to tropical storm Quiel:

  • Ilocos Region
  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Cavite
  • Batangas
  • Mindoro provinces
  • Palawan
  • Western Visayas

Quiel is less likely to make landfall and is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on November 9 (Friday).

Based on the report, the interaction of cold air and warm air in the Pacific Ocean, on the other hand, will also bring scattered rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley Region.

As for the rest of Philippines, it will face isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

The bureau is also observing another typhoon, internationally called Halong, which is outside PAR. It was last seen at about 2,985 kilometers east of extreme north Luzon.

Halong is packed with maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour and 265 kilometers per hour of gustiness. It is currently moving west northwest at about 10 kilometers per hour and is less likely to enter the country.
