Filipina singer-songwriting Moira Dela Torre is considered one of the famous OPM artists in the Philippines today. She became one of the judges of the ABS-CBN talent search Idol Philippines.
After her stint as Idol judge, she and Teen King Daniel Padilla interpreted the song ‘Mabagal’ for Himig Handog 2019 songwriting contest. Actress Kathryn Bernardo and Moira’s husband Jason Hernandez were featured on the music video.
Moira Dela Torre and Daniel Padilla won this year’s Himig Handog songwriting competition. Based on a report from PUSH, the 25-year-old singer said she really enjoyed working with the young artist.
“Hindi ko naramdaman na trabaho siya at all… kaya sobrang nag-enjoy lang kami, All throughout the process naramdaman ko na ang napanalunan ko talaga is ‘yung friendship ni Daniel. Mas lumalim ang friendship naming,” she said.
According to the report, Moira Dela Torre said the young actor is the kindest person in the industry and a “legend-in-the-making.” She hoped they could collaborate again soon.
“Working with Daniel, it was so great. It felt like working with a legend in the making. He is so kind… Kasi ako, medyo introvert ako, eh. Medyo mahiyain talaga ako, pero friendly ako. Pero si Daniel, kahit anong kwarto ang pasukin niya, lahat kinakamayan, lahat hini-hello. Lahat. As in si Daniel siguro ang pinaka-mabait na nakilala ko sa industriya, kaya napakasaya ko na nakatrabaho ko siya,” said Moira.
Based on the report, Moira commended Daniel Padilla’s talent in music. She said the actor is really passionate and knowledgeable in his craft considering he’s been busy making movies in the past years.
“Si Daniel, gusto niya na kalkulado niya lahat. Feeling niya hindi siya magaling. Pero ako parang, ‘Bakit?’ Napakagaling niya. Tapos ‘yung history niya, ‘yung knowledge niya about music, about standards, about jazz. mas marami pa siyang alam kaysa sa akin. ‘Yung history ng music na alam niya, aral na aral siya,” Moira said.
