Iza Calzado has this reaction to the statement of John Lloyd Cruz
Kapamilya actress Iza Calzado reacted to the clarification of A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz regarding his cameo role in the movie Culion.
When the trailer of the said movie was released, fans got excited to see Lloydie at the latter part. This drew speculations that this might be his comeback movie after two years of hiatus. However, following the excited remarks from fans, the actor burst the bubbles.
In a statement, John Lloyd clarified that he just did a cameo role for the hopeful movie. He said that including him in the trailer was preemptive and that it was not they agreed on.
In line with this statement from the actor, Iza Calzado gave her reaction. Based on the article from PUSH, the actress said that she understood why John Lloyd had that statement.
“I don’t think he was upset, I don’t think so. I think he knew about it. It’s just that was his request, na not to make him the center of the promo. Which he wasn’t. I think he said it matter-of-factly. These are words and they can always be misconstrued. I don’t know how he said it but I understand where he’s coming from and I respect him always naman,” Iza said.
She added that during the launch, film producer Shandi Bacolod already straighten it out that Lloydie only appeared as cameo. However, his character is very vital for the character of Meryll Soriano. “Actually feeling ko nga baka yun yung pinaka nakakiyak na moment eh. Ang sakit kasi nung moment na yun eh. Kasi sa lahat ng characters parang kay Meryll yung masakit talaga eh. Memories are painful,” she shared.
The actress also said whether in what part of the trailer, John Lloyd would still catch the attention of the viewers. Not including him is also not an option because of his status in the industry, based on the article.
“I think media is just really excited to see him as well. The same way we were excited. I’m always excited to see him. Like to see him on the set. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a scene with him,” Iza Calzado shared.
