Is Dawn Chang controversial comment for the GirlTrends?
DAWN CHANG – The Kapamilya dancer and host Dawn Chang controversial comment on “Its Showtime” sparked various speculations.
One of the newest judges in “Its Showtime” Sampu Sampol, a classic segment which was brought by the show again for the viewers for its 10th year anniversary, is Dawn Chang. As much as anyone is probably aware of, she is formerly one of the members of the show’s all-female group GirlTrends.
However, not long after they were introduced, she left the group. And in a previous article in one of her video blogs, she revealed the reason behind this. She said, “I am supposed to give an enjoyable and memorable experience to the audience. And I feel that I am not able to able to fulfill those treaties and responsibilities as a performer when I am with GT.”
And just previously, in one of the dance production of GirlTrends where they sang and danced through Sam Smith’s “How Do You Sleep” hit song, they received backlash. This is because they were not synchronized when they danced as if they haven’t practiced their number.
Now, in one of the comments she expressed for a group contender in the show, Vice Ganda teased her and jokingly said that she said it as “parinig” for GirlTrends. To which she just responded with a laugh.
In her comment, she said, “Everytime na may nakikita ako na sumasayaw ng contemporary natutuwa ako kasi contemporary dancer din ako. And I can see the technique is there. Gustong-gusto ko yun kasi ang pagsasayaw hindi lang puro hataw. Kailangan may technique, hindi tayo pwede puro awra! Di ba?”
