CESAR MONTANO – Netizens reacted to Cesar Montano and Philip Salvador’s photo showing them carrying shopping bags in Russia.

Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte recently went to Russia for his state visit. He was accompanied by a few politicians and celebrities.

The inclusion of the Filipino celebrities on the trip elicited reactions from the netizens. They inquired if Philip Salvador, Cesar Montano, Moymoy Palaboy, and Larry Gadon paid for their own airfare and accommodations. Malacañang Palace Spokesperson Salvador Panelo denied all the accusations.

In a previous article, Lolit Solis aired her honest opinion about the issue of the celebrities who joined President Duterte’s trip to Russia on social media. She said it’s unfair that people already criticized those celebrities when there’s no proof yet that they’re using the money of the Filipinos.

“Huwag tayong maging harsh sa paghusga, maging fair tayo,” she said.

Based on a report from PEP, Philip Salvador and Cesar Montano were also spotted holding shopping bags in Moscow. Their viral stolen photo triggered the netizens to speculate that they’re using the Filipinos’ money in buying those branded shoes.

The two celebrities clarified that they attended a gathering for the Overseas Filipino Workers in the country and the shoes they bought were on sale. Robin Padilla, Philip, and Cesar said they performed on an event in Moscow for free.

According to the report, the three celebrities said they were hurt after hearing the hurtful words from their fellow Filipinos considering they were only there to bring entertainment to the Filipino community in Moscow.

The prominent actors investigated who took their stolen photo in Russia. They said it was shared by an employee from a TV network who probably has motives. They returned in the Philippines in October 6.
