Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson is one of the celebrities who became a victim of “death hoax” on social media.
With the advent of technology and the widely-used social media, anything and everything can spread on the internet. One of the common hoaxes about celebrities is their death. Previously, Gab Valenciano also became a victim of this as well as Bossing Vic Sotto.
Now, a new addition to the list is Gerald Andeson who became controversial a few months ago due to the cheating allegations against him and his Between Maybes leading lady Julia Barretto. That time, many netizens expressed anger to him and Julia, especially those who took the side of Bea Alonzo.
For some, it is just normal to bash celebrities on social media, especially if they did something wrong, however, death hoax is just too much. The said fake news about the alleged “death” of Gerald was posted on the Facebook Page of Buns Tv. The post made it appear that the news came from GMA reporter Maki Pulido with the headline: “WATCH: Gerald Anderson dead on arrival matapos maaksidente sa EDSA”.
Part of the caption stated : “NEWS FLASH GUYS! Pumanaw na si Gerald Anderson, nakikiramay po kami sa kaniyang pamilya.” It was also alleged that the accident happened after the actor got drunk and had a fight with Julia. The post is no longer available now.
Obviously, this was just to gain attention from netizens. The actor is very much alive and his last post on his Instagram Story account is 17 hours ago, at the time of writing. He also shared a video of his basketball training yesterday.
