Tropical Depression Onyok Enters PAR, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA announced that the Tropical Depression Onyok has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

On Saturday (September 28, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather updates in the country. PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Onyok would affect the country’s weather condition.

Tropical Depression Onyok has entered into the country’s vicinity and was last spotted at 1,100 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. Onyok has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

The weather disturbance is now moving 30 kph at a northwest direction and expected to bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and eastern Visayas.

However, Onyok is not expected to make a landfall in any parts of the country. Meanwhile, the localized thunderstorms are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency also warned the public to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water conditions over the northern Luzon would be moderate to rough. The surrounding sea conditions over the Visayas and the rest of Luzon as well as Mindanao would be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
