PAGASA – Weather state bureau PAGASA recently said that parts of the Philippines will experience fair weather as habagat weakens.

The bureau said that the fair weather is due to the weakened effects of the southwest monsoon or the habagat.

A report from PhilStar states that Northern Luzon will still however be affected by the weakened habagat as they face scattered rainshowers.

As for Metro Manila and the rest of the Philippines, they will still face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

The fair weather occurred after weeks of cloudy and rainy weather brought by the habagat which was enhanced by two weather disturbances Severe Tropical Storm Nimfa and Tropical Depression Marilyn.

As per the report, the bureau is currently not monitoring any storms around the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

However, they announce that there will be longer nights due to the autumnal equinox which will occur at about 3:50 PM on September 23 (Monday).
