DISTRICTS OF METRO MANILA – In this topic, we will now discuss the four districts of Metro Manila or National Capital Region.

DISTRICTS OF METRO MANILA

Metropolitan Manila or Metro Manila is the central region of the Philippines. It is also one of the regions in Luzon, one of the three island groups in the Philippines.

It is assigned as the National Capital Region and has a population of more than 12 million people as of 2015.

Districts

This region is not like the rest of the regions. While they have provinces, the NCR has districts. Here are the following four districts:

  • Capital District (Center: Manila)
    • The First District of Metro Manila, it is also known as the Pearl of the Orient and is the only city-district.
  • Eastern Manila District (Center: Quezon)
    • The Second District. The central city Quezon is named after Manuel L. Quezon and is known as Kyusi or the City of Stars. The District is composed of:
      • Mandaluyong
      • Marikina
      • Pasig
      • Quezon
      • San Juan
  • Northern Manila District (Center: Caloocan)
    • The Third District and informally known as CAMANAVA (acronym for the four cities that onstitute this district). The central city Caloocan is known as the Historic City of Caloocan. The District is composed of:
      • Caloocan
      • Malabon
      • Navotas
      • Valenzuela
  • Southern Manila District (Center: Pasay)
    • The Fourth District. The central city Pasay is known as The Travel City, The District is composed of:
      • Las Piñas
      • Makati
      • Muntinlupa
      • Parañaque
      • Pasay
      • Pateros
      • Taguig
