PAGASA – Habagat Rains Prevail Over Manila, Luzon (September 20)

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that rains brought by habagat continues to prevail over Manila and parts of Luzon.

The bureau said that the southwest monsoon or habagat will bring light to moderate with chances of heavy rains over the following areas:

  • Metro Manila
  • Central Luzon
  • Calabarzon
  • Mimaropa
    • Mindoro provinces
    • Romblon
    • Marinduque

According to a report from ABS-CBN, Visayas and Mindanao will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies followed up with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Tropical depression Nimfa, on the other hand, is currently moving north northwest, accelerating its speed. It is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of about 75 kilometers per hour with gustiness of up to 90 kilometers per hour.

As per the report, the tropical depression was last spotted at about 580 kilometers east of the municipality of Basco, Batanes as opposed to its previous distance of 715 kilometers east of the same town.

It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday (September 21).
