Ogie Alcasid Gives His Take On Low Score Controversy In TNT
OGIE ALCASID – The singer-songwriter, and judge for Tawag Ng Tanghalan, voiced his thoughts regarding the controversy faced by his fellow judges in an interview.
Ogie admitted that their job as a judge in Tawag ng Tanghalan in It’s Showtime has never been harder. He said that this was due to the tight competition towards the upcoming finals of the contest.
He stated that Tawag ng Tanghalan is like every other talent show. This was in the sense that not everybody would be happy with the results, he added.
“That is a truth that we have to accept”, Ogie said. He then added that even if it was Miss Universe or any other contest, there would be disappointment.
As a judge, Ogie also understood the sentiments of the fans for their favorite contestants who got low scores. He stated that it’s hard to balance their judgement.
In the interview uploaded by ABS-CBN, he said that it’s a daily performance based judging that they are doing. He then emphasized that it’s not a matter of favoritism or popularity with fans.
Rather, it’s when the contestants show their best nearing the finals. Their, we could see who really gives a top-notch performance, he added.
Because of the harsh remarks of a contestant of the show recently, Ogie wanted the people to be more understanding. “Let’s try to broaden our minds”, he said.
He said that we should really look into what went on. Ogie then stated that it’s a matter of the judges feeling that someone was better on that particular day.
Aside from Tawag ng Tanghalan, Ogie is also busy with his upcoming concert. It would be on October 10 at the New Port Performing Arts Theater.
