PAGASA – Manila, Parts Of Luzon And Visayas Face Rains By 2 LPA

PAGASA – Weather state bureau PAGASA recently said that two low pressure areas (LPA) will bring rains in Manila, parts of Luzon, and Visayas.

One LPA was spotted 130 kilometers west southwest of the municipality of Iba, Zambales, according to the bureau’s weather specialist Meno Mendoza.

A report from ABS-CBN News states that the said brewing storm will strengthen the southwest monsoon or habagat, which will bring rains in Central and South Luzon, as well as Western Visayas.

AS for the other LPA, it was last seen at about 715 kilometers east of the town of Basco, Batanes.

A tropical storm internationally called Peipah, on the other hand, reverted back to a low pressure area. It is currently travelling outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

As per the report, the following areas will face rains due to the southwest monsoon:

  • Metro Manila
  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Cavite
  • Batangas
  • Palawan
  • Mindoro Provinces

The following areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms

  • Bicol Region
  • Western Visayas
  • the rest of Central Luzon
  • Calabarzon
  • Mimaropa

Cagayan Valley, CAR and Ilocos Region will face cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the LPA’s trough. As for Mindanao, Central and Eastern Visayas, they will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
