PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Updates in PH (September 14)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon or known as Habagat would bring rains over most parts of the Philippines.

On Saturday (September 14, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather updates in the country. The weather agency said that the southwest monsoon would affect southern Luzon, the Visayas and parts of Mindanao.

PAGASA said that the southwest monsoon would bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

The localized thunderstorms are also expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.

Tropical Depression Marilyn has no direct effect in any part of the Philippines but it is pulling the southwest monsoon, which bring rains over the entire archipelago. Marilyn was last spotted at 1,150 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

TD Marilyn that has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday (September 15, 2019).

However, the tropical depression may return to PAR moving near extreme northern Luzon but not expected to develop into a typhoon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao would be moderate to rough, according to the weather bureau.
