Datu Title Of Baron Geisler Is Fake Says Sultanate Of Sulu
SULTANATE OF SULU – The Royal Sultanate of Sulu has contradicted the issuance of the title peace and prosperity to actor Baron Geisler.
The Royal House of Sulu’s Chancellery said in a statement that the recent royal title given to the actor was fake. They emphasized that the title given to Geisler was not from a legitimate Sultan of Sulu & North Borneo.
The said statement was made on behalf of His Royal Majesty Paduka Masahari Al-Maulana Ampun Sultan Hadji Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram ibni Almarhum Sultan Mohammad Mahakuttah Abdulla Kiram. His Royal Majesty is the 35th Sultan of Sulu and Borneo.
The statement stated that the people who gave the title to Geisler are commoners with no royal blood. These people would be Mohammadmamay Hasan Abdurajak and Maria Makiling Helen Fatima Nasaria Panolino Abdurajak.
In the statement, it was emphasized that those two are not even recognized by the government as one of the claimants to the Sultanate of Sulu. The statement also urged the public not to be mislead by the false pretenders.
The declaration of the sultanate also indicated the legitimacy of the 35th Sultan. It stated that the current Sultan was recognized by the government under Memorandum Order No. 427 issued on May 10, 1974.
Based on a text message from Bangsamoro Transition Authority member Amir Mawallil text message to Inquirer.net, for an individual to be called Datu, one must be of blood and lineage.
Mawallil added that the tarsila does not lie. He then said that they preserve their genealogies just because of that reason.
According to Mawallil the individuals that gave Geisler the title do not represent the Sultanate. He also said that the Tausug does not give titles.
