Actor Baron Geisler Receives Datu Title From Sulu Royal Family
BARON GEISLER – Ang Probinsyano actor Barol Geilser will be receiving the title of “Datu” from King Raja Mohammadmamay Hasan Abdurajak and Queen Maria Makiling Helen Fatima Nasaria Panolino Abdurajak.
The King and Queen are the heirs of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo. The ceremony will be held In Quezon City.
Baron Geisler inspired the royal couple through his comeback story. They were also deeply moved by his touching testimonies.
According to an article by Philstar, the Royal couple believed in his potential as an inspirational role model for the youth. This was because of the actor’s strides towards spiritual maturity.
Right now, Geisler plays Dante, the latest antagonist in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Ang Probinsyano has been ABS-CBN’s longest running primetime series, spanning seven seasons.
Geisler was a former child actor in the 90’s television show “Ang TV”. After this, he was then best known for the drama series “Tabing Ilog”.
Since then, the actor has garnered several accolades including the Best Actor award in the 4th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival on July, 2008. Aside from this, he has won the 2005 PMPC Best single Performance of an Actor for the Maalaala Mo Kaya.
Baron Geisler is now engaged to Jamie Evangelista. His non-actress fiancé is a psychologist from Cebu.
Nevertheless, the actor has had his run with controversy throughout his career. Back in the early 2000’s he has confessed to having an alcohol addition.
The actor was also involved in several brawls which led to his mother signing him up in a detox facility. He was also tagged as the “Bad Boy” in Philippine showbiz.
But after all of that, Barn has pledged to change his ways and turn his life around. Geisler started to join religious organizations like the Maranatha Christian Fellowship in Cebu.
