PAGASA: Tropical Storm Jenny Enhances, Signal No.1 Over More Areas

PAGASA – Weather state bureau PAGASA recently said that tropical storm “Jenny” slightly intensified as more areas are under Signal No. 1.

“Jenny”, which was previously seen 770 kilometers east of the city of Guluan, Eastern Samar, was last spotted at 530 kiloometers east of the city of Virac, Catanduanes.

A report from ABS-CBN states that the bureau raised Signal No. 1, where they face winds of 30-60 kilometers per hour within 36 hours, in the following areas:

  • Cagayan
  • Isabela
  • Quirino
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Apayao
  • Abra
  • Kalinga
  • Mountain Province
  • Ifugao
  • Benguet
  • Ilocos Norte
  • Ilocos Sur
  • La Union
  • Pangasinan
  • Aurora
  • Nueva Ecija
  • Tarlac
  • Northern part Zambales
  • Northern part of Quezon
    • Polillo Island
  • Catanduanes

Tropical storm Jenny is currently moving northwest at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour and brings maximum sustained windas of up to 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 70 kilometers per hour.

As per the report, PAGASA said that intermittent to frequent moderate to heavy rains will fall under the following areas from Monday night to Tuesday:

  • Bicol Region
  • Eastern Visayas
  • Cagayan
  • Isabela
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Quirino
  • Aurora
  • Quezon

Meanwhile, light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will be faced by the following areas:

  • Metro Manila
  • The rest of Luzon
  • The rest of Visayas
  • Zamboanga peninsula

On Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday midnight, intermittent to frequent moderate to heavy rains will be faced by the following areas:

  • Metro Manila
  • Central Luzon
  • Calabarzon
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Quirino
  • Benguet
  • Pangasinan

Tropical storm Jenny is expected to make landfall on the eastern coastline of Isabela-Aurora area between Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.

Residents were advised to initiate precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster offices, and stay vigilant for weather updates.
