Based on a report from ABS-CBN, a lotto outlet owner reacted to President Duterte’s order o closed all the gaming operations under PCSO.

Marilen Comandao complained by the president’s abrupt orders. She said cops just went to his outlet and closed it. He’s now wondering where to get money to pay for his employees.

“Iyung employee namin is a single mom, wala na siyang trabaho… Hindi naman kami may kasalanan bakit kami pinaparusahan? Sana kung sino may kasalanan, sila parusahan,” said Comandao.

Another lotto outlet owner, Neil Hoseña also complained by the president’s new orders saying they shouldn’t be involved on Duterte’s fight against the alleged corrupt officials.

“Bakit pati operation nadamay? Kung may corruption, sana ‘yung mga tao na lang dun sa loob ang suspendihin, kasi nadamay kami, kabuhayan namin wala na kami kinikita,” he said.

Based on the report, Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra said the PCSO will only return to its normal operations once they caught all the corrupt officials and employees.

“I believe that until this investigation is completed and people responsible for cheating the government have been unmasked, PCSO gaming operations such as lotto and STL (Small Town Lottery), which are otherwise legal, may not resume,” said Guevarra.

The PNP has closed a total of 21,173 lotto, Keno, STL, and Peryahan ng Bayan outlets nationwide.
