Russian Boxer Maxim Dadashev Passed Away After Fight

The Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev suddenly passed away after sustaining injuries during his fight against Subriel Matias in Maryland.

On Wednesday (July 24, 2019 – PH time), the Russian boxing federation announced that Maxim Dadashev died in the United States after his match.

Dadashev lost to Puerto Rican boxer Subriel Matias on their super lightweight fight after his cornerman James “Buddy” McGirt stopped the match in the 11th round.

McGirt decided to throw the towel after the Russian boxer received more and more clean shots from Matias.

The 28-year-old boxer was unable to walk to the dressing room because of his injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

The boxer underwent an emergency brain surgery in Washington to ease the pressure from swelling on his brain.

Unfortunately, the latter did not make it and died from the injuries he sustained during the fight.

“Maxim Dadashev has died in the United States following injuries sustained during his fight with Subriel Matias,” the Russian boxing federation said.

The remains of the athlete will be repatriated home and his family would get financial assistance, according to Russian boxing chief Umar Kremlev.
