How true is that the contract of John Lloyd Cruz with ABS-CBN ended already?
A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz, reportedly, has no contract with his former mother network ABS-CBN and there are no project plans for him.
In 2017, Lloydie surprised many people, especially his fans when he suddenly took an indefinite leave of absence. That time, he was still doing the now reformatted Home Sweetie Home with Toni Gonzaga.
All of a sudden, he left the show and eventually spotted with co-star Ellen Adarna. Initially, they refused to answer rumors linking them. However, as time gone by, the couple eventually showed the real score between them.
Now that JLC appeared to be making his showbiz comeback through an endorsement for Turks with Bea Alonzo and Piolo Pascual, an article from Pilipino Star Ngayon revealed that his contract with ABS-CBN already ended.
According to entertainment columnist Salve Asis, the A-list did not negotiate with the network regarding his contract.
It is a known routine in the Philippine entertainment industry that an artist and the network is doing the negotiation six months before the contract expires.
However, in the case of John Lloyd Cruz, the negotiation happened but it did not materialize. This was supposed to take place even before he took his indefinite leave.
Things were not sorted out between two parties until it overlapped the contract expiration.
Based on the article, the Kapamilya network has no plans for John Lloyd when it comes to his showbiz projects since there is no contract between them anymore.
There were previous speculations saying that ABS-CBN is just waiting for his return but having no contract and project plans from the network is telling otherwise.
