Surigao del Sur Hit by Earthquake with 3.8 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.8 magnitude quake in Surigao del Sur today, June 29, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of the country. At 01:02 pm today, June 29, 2019, Surigao del Norte was rocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Surigao del Sur was located at 08.24° North, 127.18° East – 087 km North 75° East of Lingig. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 113 kilometers.
Based on the bulletin posted by Phivolcs on its official Twitter page. There are no expected damages caused by the quake and as well as aftershocks.
