Authorities Arrest Foreigner in Negros Oriental Over Suspected Drugs
FOREIGNER – An American man was arrested by the authorities in Negros Oriental over suspected drugs, June 18.
The war against drugs continues under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The total elimination of the substance from the country is one of the campaign promises of the President.
Under the Duterte Administration, a lot of people linked to the trade of the substance already fell to the hook of the authorities and are now facing corresponding charges before the Court.
Not only Filipinos involved in drug trades but as well as foreigners going against the law are nabbed by the authorities.
Recently, an American was arrested in a part of Visayas.
Based on a report on GMA’s Unang Balita, a foreigner identified as James Thomas Hobert was arrested by the authorities in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental over suspected drugs.
Inside his hotel room in Dumaguete, several packs of suspected drugs were reportedly seized by the authorities. These packs allegedly has a street value worth Php 50,000.00.
According to the report, Hobert was already arrested previously over drugs but he was able to post a bail and be released. He refused to give a statement.
