MAXENE MAGALONA – The Kapamilya actress Maxene Magalona has decided to donate her chopped hair to cancer patients.
In little things that we do without asking anything in return, there might be a beautiful impact we can make to someone else’s life and that’s a different form of love and compassion to our fellow. It definitely does not take too much to be good and do good at all times. And Kapamilya actress Maxene Magalona, with such class act she has done, received praises.
Previously, everyone got shocked when the Kapamilya actress decided to chop her hair off on shoulder length. With the new look, she still looked just as gorgeous as she is even though she’s always stunning with her hair short or long.
“Finally decided to go for it and just cut my hair! I was always so scared to do it, thinking that my hips were too huge and that I needed long hair to balance things out,” she wrote in a post.
And her husband played a huge part in this change and transformation of her as he is her number one person encouraging her to just go for it. She furthered, “And I’m so glad he convinced me because I got to donate my hair again but this time to [Hair For Hope Heads] at HEADS By Volu-Med Salon.”
As much as anyone is aware of, her father, the Master Rapper Francis Magalona, also died of cancer.
What makes cancer patients loss their hair? According to Mayo Clinic, hair loss of cancer patients is due to chemotherapy that targets all rapidly dividing cells including the healthy cells and the cancer cells. Among the fastest growing cells in the body are the hair follicles and chemo destroys it, thus, explains hair loss in either a gradual or dramatic way.
