Multiple missions have been set by spaceflight enthusiasts and government agencies. Last year, SpaceX have successfully launched a powerful rocket towards Mars.

Meanwhile, astronomy fans were shocked, last Friday, when US President Donald Trump posted a tweet apparently saying that the moon is part of Mars.

In his tweet, he made comments about National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He criticized NASA missions saying : “For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon – We did that 50 years ago.”

But the part which most readers of his tweet reacted to was when he wrote: “They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!”

The US President’s tweet have given many space fans a shock since that has not been considered as a part of Mars for years.

Behind it, is a theory that basically says Earth have collided with another planet sized entity so many years ago that caused a debris to develop and eventually form and become the moon we see today.

NASA has not responded immediately to the Guardian’s inquiry if the moon is a part of Mars.

Regardless of the answer whether the moon is truly a part of Mars, the announcement Trump made was still shocking to some people since he previously supported the idea of a lunar visit.

On his May 13 Tweet, Trump said “We are going back to the moon.”

Jim Bridenstine, a NASA Administrator – appointed by Trump, announced the agency’s plans to fly astronauts to the moon and get them there by 2924.

This is according to an article from The Guardian.

Vice President Mike Pence also championed the lunar visit idea saying:

“Our determination is to see Americans back on the moon in the very near future.”

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
