Public Schools Clean-Up Drive In Line w/ Brigada Eskwela 2019 Starts Today (May 20)

BRIGADA ESKWELA 2019 – The Brigada Eskwela clean-up drive in public schools for this year starts today, May 20.

In the Philippines, the elementary and secondary schools funded by the government are under the supervision of the Department of Education. More commonly known as DepEd, the department implements various programs and activities.

One of these is the clean-up program called Brigada Eskwela. Part of it is the clean-up drive involving the teachers, faculty and staff, students, and even the parents of the learners.

For this year, the Department of Education set May 16, 2019 as the launching of the Brigada Eskwela 2019. It was held in Alfonso Central School in Cavite.

The theme of the program is “Matatag na Bayan Para sa Maunlad na Paaralan” based on a report on GMA News.

With regards to the clean-up under the Brigada Eskwela 2019 in public schools, it was set to start today, May 20, until May 25, 2019. Previously, DepEd Undersecretary Tonisito Umali clarified that there is no fee in participating to the program and activities.

Furthermore, based on the report, there is also no accepting of donations from candidates who filed their certificates of candidacies in the Election 2019. The said poll was held on May 13, 2019.

The Brigada Eskwela is part of the preparation for another school year that is about to start. Previously, it was announced by the DepEd that classes in public schools will start on June 3.
